Monthly update: October-January

This has been a crazy four months fam, lol, I spent most of it moving and getting ready for my jaw surgery, which ended up being postponed due to insurance issues, but has been rescheduled! Praise the Lord, God gave me such amazing peace and patience to wait out that whole headache. This will be one of the last steps in a long journey so it was hard having it moved at the last minute, but my joy remained unshaken because I've chosen to not place it in things that are not constant or fullfilling like my Baba (baba means father in Swahili, so I like to use it when referring to God).

October: Was this even a month that happened? I remember like none of it...I remember Halloween, vaguely, but that's it, lol. Oh, and moving, all day, everyday.

November: More moving, and pie! Yummy pumpkin pie. Thanksgiving was chill, spent it packing and laying in bed mostly. Lots of time with my parents this month which I am beyond grateful for :)

December: Moving (yes, still), but hey! This is the end! We officially had all of our stuff relocated to our new house on December 29th! Which was surprisingly not stressful at all. We had so many wonderful people come help us. It made me love them more, I didn't know that was possible. Anyway, I still have boxes needing to be unpacked to this day, because I'm lazy, and am waiting to be able to buy the supplies to build my loft bed/desk/bookshelf. Christmas was laid back as well, I did some shopping with my mom to prep for the new house, we made dinner and watched some Lethal Weapon (Omg, I love Mel Gibson 😅)

January: New year, new house, new job, a whole new world peeps. This has been a FAST 22 days. I started working at my church doing some intern stuff (Vacuuming, organizing, filing, and whatever else they find for me to do.), got my drivers license! Yay! And I'm using my mom's old car to get around so I technically have my own car and get to leave whenever I want, double yay! Surgery got rescheduled!!! I cannot even put into words how excited I am to put that into words, lol.
Big things are happening, the future is bright, and I am glad I've got God on my side, because otherwise I would be freaking out with how many options I have and the decisions I have to make regarding college, and a career (well, I'm still low-key overwhelmed...but Jesus helps 😂)
Grew out of my youth group, which was one of the hardest things I've done in a while. But it's good, growing is good. I have friends, and people who are supporting me and helping through this transition.
Honestly, I wanna know when I became an adult. I want to be able to look over the clips of my life, point and say "there! That moment, that was when I grew up." But sadly I can't do that, it just sort of....happened. One minute I'm sitting there laughing with my friends about literally nothing, staying up till 10pm and thinking "this is the best thing ever, I'm so grown up.", then I get an email address, which is upgraded to a flip phone, and then a drivers permit, and before I know it I'm asked out on my first date, I have to drive myself to babysitting and work 8 to 2 and don't even know what day it is. Except when it's Tuesday, because Tuesday is doughnut day.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I love the perks of being an adult, and it's exciting getting to experience all this new stuff. But it's a lot guys and I'm horrible with time management.
It's so helpful to have trustworthy leaders in my life who help me stay grounded by the Word and sanity, rather than letting me fly off with my young, crazy, emotion driven ideas, otherwise I would hit the endless abyss of space full of choices and voices pulling me every direction imaginable, run out of oxygen and go back to panic attacks...yeah, there is wisdom in the counsel of many (worthy) people.
Now that moving is over, I hope to get back into my writing. I'll most likely keep just posting movie reviews, stories, and monthly updates. But please feel free to suggest a post, or ask me anything! :)

Until next post, drink water, remember to breathe, and do something you've been postponing! 😘😘
