Monthly update: February-March

February: This month was mainly just my last event with the youth group, valentines day with my best friend, and my birthday.
My final event as a "youth" was Generation Unleashed (GU), and man, what a great way to go out. I got to spend one last spectacular weekend with my friends, hearing from God, seeing lives changed, addictions broken, people healed, lives restored (Holy ground made it to the top of my favorite worship songs list.), all around an amazing and refreshing weekend.

This is the first year I did something special for valentines day, my best friend Maggie and I decided to celebrate my birthday early (and hangout as single woman when all of our friends were going out with their boyfriends 😂), by doing a lot of things, the only time we were at home was to sleep. We went to the theaters to see Alita Battle Angel - I would give it a 3/5 star rating, I thought it was pretty great, but could use more epic battle music and the ending was a cliff hanger I didn't appreciate. We also saw Lego movie 2 which I give a 5/5 star rating, it was funny, cute but serious, and had a really cool message.
Then we headed to the Dallas to meet a friend from high school (Shayla) and do a photo shoot in the snow, here are a few favorites out of the roughly 700 pictures we took 😅

This is Shayla, she gives the best hugs 💓💓💓

There is no photo shoot without bloopers, and I swear this girl makes every one hilarious, just like she makes the mistakes in life something to laugh at.

This week was definitely one I will remember forever. I'm beyond grateful for the opportunity of traveling, hanging out with friends, and making memories.

For my actual birthday my mom and I hung out in a hot tub, saw a movie, had dinner and simply enjoyed each other's company. I have to say, in my 19 years of life, I would not have survived without my parents, my dad has helped me see the logical side of things, and learn to figure things out for myself. And my mom has always been one for a good ranting and laughing session. They're my heroes and I honestly don't know how I would survive without them.

March
I had my jaw surgery at the beginning of this month, so things have been kind of slow, and I didn't have to energy to writing anything until now. The recovery has been rough with not being able to eat much and sleeping is uncomfortable, it's been hard staying positive but I'm thankful to say the worst of the pain is over and I'm doing better. There's still a long road ahead with my braces and other dental work, but it seems like nothing compared to what they've been doing the past 7 years. I'll share pictures and my testimony after my next orthodontist visit when they get new x-rays.
I'm in the process of still writing a part two of my Tolan Odyssey short story, as well as another Disney movie review. I really want to get back in and focus on my writing, I have some interesting ideas piling up and want to write them out before they fade, so you may see a plethora of random short stories soon ;-)
Other than that I've mostly just been resting, working at my church, and doing some personal bible study time.

That's all for now, hope you have a blessed and wonderful month.
Until next post, take a drive or walk somewhere new, make your favorite meal and enjoy every bite.
